Forward Hannah Brandt has been named the WCHA Rookie of the Week after the Gophers swept UMD over the weekend. It is the third time that Brandt, a MAP North member, has earned Rookie of the Week honors. From GophersSports.com:

"Brandt played a large part in the Gophers' sweep of UMD this past weekend as she recorded four assists. In the first game, the Vadnais Heights, Minn. native assisted on two power-play goals to help the Gophers win, 4-1. The freshman matched that performance on Saturday with two more assists. Her first assist came on a Bozek power-play goal, which also served as the game winner."

The MAP North staff is proud to see Hannah thriving in her first season with the No. 1-ranked Gophers. She is currently leading the Gophers with 33 points (12 goals, 21 assists) and a +27 rating through 12 games.
