Over this past weekend (February 14-17), FHIT Hockey played host to the inaugural Tier 1 Elite Hockey League (T1EHL) playoffs at their facilities in Blaine, MN.
The T1EHL is located coast to coast and is the premier amateur youth hockey league in the United States. Players from all over the country are able to stay close to home and play the best competition and gain exposure and the skill development needed for higher levels.
In the U18 Division (Midget Major), the Pittsburgh Penguins Elite team was down two goals early on but rallied to defeat Belle Tire 4-3 in overtime. Click here to read the recap article.
In the U16 Division (Midget Minor), the St. Louis Blues blanked the TPH Thunder 3-0 in the championship game to capture the title. Click here to read the recap article.
FHIT Hockey thanks the T1EHL for an excellent weekend of hockey that included 98 fast-paced games, 48 top-quality teams from 24 world-class organizations, and over 120 scouts in attendance. Congrats to the Penguins and Blues for taking home the championship hardware!
T1EHL teams had full access to the FHIT Hockey facilities at the Herb Brooks Training Center throughout the tournament, and players used the spaces to warm up and shoot pucks.
