Minnesota Advancement Program: Special Events

R4 Hockey and the Minnesota Scouting Report takes pride in hosting special events that include the top high school prospects in Minnesota and throughout the nation. Over the past five years we have brought teams and players to the USHL Fall Classic, Junior A games, and college campuses such as UMD, SCSU, amongst others.

Events include:

Tours to facilities
Visits with college and junior coaching staffs
Educational meetings
Two to three game competitive series
Player Testing On and Off-Ice
College and Junior prepration seminars

2011 High School Preview

The R4/MSR and The MAP Staff hosted its 4th Annual High School Preview. The games featured some of the area's top high school players from the sophomore, junior and senior classes. It was a fun evening and a great way to send the boys off to their season! We want to thank all of the participants for playing and we wish everyone GOOD LUCK with thier season!

2011 COLLEGE TOUR & COMBINE A SUCCESS

The R4/MSR hosted the 4th Annual College Tour and Combine! This event featured elite players from Minnesota as well as Teams from around the country. The Metro players were joined by the Chicago Young Americans, Colorado Rampage, Duluth Northern Wings and the Minnesota Blades.

The teams experienced three days of education with Off-Ice Testing, On-Ice Testing, Scrimmages, College Tours andCollege games. The event started at the Schwan Super Rink in Blaine, MN and finished at some of the finest Arenas in the Country. The College Tours sent teams to tour and play at theU of M (Marriucci Arena), The National Hockey Center in St. Cloud, and the new Sanford Center at Bemidji State University.

2011 USHL Fall Classic (Sioux City Trip)

MSR North Gold & MSR South Black

The MSR (Minnesota Scouting Report) hosted the 2011 USHL Fall Classic Sophomore Series for the 4th consecutive year. The trip consisted of 32 of Minnesota's Top 1995/96 Prospects (mostly Sophomores) who traveled to Sioux City, Iowa for a 3 Game Series during the USHL Fall Classic preseason event. Once again, this was a very successful trip. Players were given the opportunity to live the junior hockey lifestyle and showcase their skills to Scouts and Coaches in the 3 Game series between MSR South Black and MSR North Gold.

The Minnesota Scouting Combines are hosted by the Minnesota Scouting Report & Minnesota Advancement Program Staff along with Junior A Coaches and Scouts. Unlike other exposure events or camps the MSC provides the players with honest feedback in regard to where they stand according to the Junior A and College Hockey Ranks. We also will provide Junior A & Colleges with the detailed information from the Combine. The Minnesota Scouting Combine includes:

§ 1 On-Ice Testing Session - Skills Session - 3 Regulation Games

v On-Ice Testing/Report

§ Testing Results, Comparisons and Benchmarks

v Off-Ice Testing/Report

v Only 4 teams will be formed for the Junior A Combine in May

Event Investment: $255 per player – Housing accommodations, meals and other benefits available for an additional cost

2nd Annual College Combine & Tour - 2010

The 2nd Annual MAP College Combine & Tour was another success. It was a long day Thursday at the rink but the guys were great. All the testing and activities ran smoothly and we had a great game to finish the day. The Tour of Minnesota Duluth went better than expected, MAP Alumni Justin Faulk and J.T. Brown took time out of their pre game preparations to say a few words to the guys. And to top it all off, J.T. Brown, who is having a great start to his freshman season scored the game winner in OT. With the success of this year, look forward to more trips like this. It's a great opportunity for us to see the players who are ready to invest time and effort into becoming the hockey players they aspire to be. Thanks to the all the parents for their attendance at the HTBC as well. Good luck for the upcoming season and keep up the good work.

The USHL Fall Classic Tour & MAP Series

What a great educational event the USHL Fall Classic is for Minnesota Players who have aspirations to play hockey after High School. This is our 4th annual trip which includes a 3 game series between The South Campus & North Campus. The North Campus took the 3 game series for the second consecutive year.
